We stayed at Anantara The Palm over the weekend and decided to go to Mekong for some authentic Asian food.
Mekong is a charming venue where quirky rickshaw-style seating and stunning exotic interiors are the perfect canvas for the delicious food from China, Vietnam and Thailand, three of the six countries through which the Mekong river flows.
The meal kicks off with a platter of beetle leaves filled with various condiments which makes for quite an unusual appetizer!
We ordered our usual – Thai green curry, fried rice and the Chef’s recommendation. Service is excellent and cost of the food is reasonable for a restaurant on the Palm. As always ended the Thai feast with sticky rice, sweet mango and coconut cream.
You can sit outside at one of the Tuk Tuk tables which offers a spectacular view of the Burj al Arab and Burj Khalifa.
Overall a good experience and definitely one of the best Asian restaurant on the Palm.
